DECK NAME - Barely an Inconvenience

https://youtu.be/VhVQsN3pu9U

"So, you have a new solo progression deck for me?" "Yes, sir, I do!" "Ok, but this'd better be good, because The Three Trials was one of the most difficult quests in solo so far!" "Well, sir, this deck is for a scenario called Trouble in Tharbad." "Oh boy, it sounds like our heroes are really in trouble this time." "Actually, sir, it's really no trouble at all! Barely an inconvenience! You see, the quest actually lowers your threat for you!" "Oh wow wow wow wow wow! Quests that lower your threat are tight!"

OVERVIEW - The goal of the deck is to draw cards, play cheap allies, take advantage of doomed in a quest that actually lowers your threat, engage enemies with higher engagement than your threat, and attain high levels of using Faramir to demolish the quest.

HEROES

  • Grima - use his action early; no worries as our threat will quickly decrease as we play allies
  • Pippin - his response will allow us to draw a card pretty much any time we engage an enemy as our threat will remain low
  • Sam Gamgee - attach 3X Dúnedain Mark and Steward of Gondor; his response combined with chump allies and other ally will help us destroy any enemies that engage us

STRATEGY

  • OPENING HAND - primarily you want Steward of Gondor and card draw
  • DOOMED KEYWORD - this deck has a lot of doomed cards; just because we have it doesn't mean we should use it; watch out for Conspicuous Lot treachery; this is the greatest danger to this deck; just keep an eye on your threat vs elimination level as well as how many allies you have in play; don't overdo doom!
  • STAGE 1 - draw cards and spam allies as best as you can; Faramir is crucial to getting high levels of ; try to get necessary out before you engage enemies (6 is needed for Spy from Mordor); in fact, you want to engage enemies to make use of Sam and Pippin's response; no shadow card issues to deter chumping early; you'll move on before removing 12 time counters from stage 1 so a threat elimination level of 30 isn't an issue
  • STAGE 2 - bring in Gandalf and quest past any remaining in staging no problem
  • Envoy of Pelargir - can refund resource to Sam once he has Steward of Gondor attached
  • Gandalf - use for card draw
  • Herald of Anórien - use his doomed effect to get allies our quickly
  • Pelargir Ship Captain - nice to move resources where needed
  • Squire of the Citadel - can refund Sam with Steward of Gondor attached
  • Peace, and Thought - exhaust Pippin and Grima for effect; be sure to have some willpower on the table before doing this

Love the Pitch Meeting theme, and the creativity of the deck! Have you considered using A Very Good Tale to accelerate your board state? Not that the deck needs more card draw :).

@ironwill212 thanks for the comment Will! I did but I just felt like the deck was fast enough without it. Usually win in 7 round as is. Probably would replace Mithrandir's Advice or Deep Knowledge with it if I added it. VGT is an amazing card!

@ironwill212 and I'm pumped you knew the reference!

@Copterman Yep, those videos are a lot of fun :). I can definitely understand not really needing more acceleration with all the tools this deck has.
