Darkling Door 6122

A song-themed Erestor Noldor deck that has become my partner's go-to deck for multiplayer play. She used this deck throughout all 9 quests of The Grey Havens / Dreamchaser cycle, with a few modifications along the way. This version has Elrond instead of Beravor, and is much more efficient with resources and cards than earlier versions.

General Strategy

She typically goes through her deck at least twice in a game, maybe thrice. She has to keep track of how many Will of the Wests are in her discard pile so that she doesn't accidentally discard the last one.

In general, this is a questing / support deck. It's versatile, so if she needs to prioritize willpower she can do that, or if healing is more important she can focus on that instead. Light of Valinor is here for Elrond in case the deck gets engaged with enemies that need defending. The deck can handle an enemy or two (especially in the late game) but it's best to combine it with a combat-focused deck that can help to keep the pressure off while it builds up.

Good early game cards include low-cost Lore allies and the Silver Harp, which gives her the option of holding something for next round when she can afford it better. If healing is going to be an issue from the get-go, Imladris Caregiver is also a good card to see in her opening hand.

Love of Tales (even post-errata!) helps to compensate for the cost of all of the songs in the deck. The only Song that's not really worth playing in the early game is Song of EƤrendil until she gets a few more copies of Love of Tales down. All of the others are useful in and of themselves, and the extra resources are just a bonus.

Sideboard

The sideboard still contains Beravor in case someone else at the table is using Elrond. The other two heroes can't be easily switched out. The Evening Star can be super useful in some quests, or a dead card in others, so she usually just shuffles it into the deck if it we find it would be helpful.

Hi Authraw, cool deck you have posted here. I wanted to know if you could please take a look at my list on RingsDB that has a very similar strategy? It's my first time using the Noldor as the focus of a deck so I'm not sure if what I'm doing is optimal. Would you be willing to take a look at it and give me some feedback? It can be found here: ringsdb.com

Thank you need advance if you get a chance to give me any tips. I also wanted to tell you to keep up the good work on your blog, I have been following it religiously and look forward to your articles each week. The decks you post are very well thought out and the thematic elements really seal the deal for me. Thanks, I look forward to seeing what you post next!

Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad to hear that people like my blog, because I really enjoy writing it.

My partner and I looked at your decklist and put a few suggestions in the comments for you.
