At the End of All Things works well with both Kahliel and Thurindir. Both heroes want another unique card mid-game -- Kahliel wants his Headdress and Thurindir a 3rd side quest. If these are already in-hand, then there's plenty of utility cards to grab depending on current need: Ancestral Armor, Magic Ring, Thalion, Warden of Healing, Firyal, Hauberk of Mail, etc. Kahliel also pairs especially well with 's card draw to feed his readying mechanism -- which also helps ensure that you can have two heroes ready after questing first round with nothing else in play. Lastly, they start with just 26 .

Mulligan for Seasoned Forager and a 2- ally, or at least a Kahliel's Tribesman or Southron Refugee to help with first turn questing. Use Thurindir's setup to grab Gather Information first, which you may be able to clear first round if you can quest for 8. After that, it's pretty straightforward Harad and side quests plus some general good stuff.

Other card thoughts:

  • Celebrían's Stone to boost first-turn willpower.
  • West Road Traveller, but hard to play first turn so I didn't include.
  • The White Council to recycle any key attachments that get discarded/destroyed.
  • Wingfoot could help Thurindir be ready for combat, but I generally put the first two Legacy Blades on Kahliel anyway, so this is more of a late-game issue and by that point it's not so necessary.
  • Ioreth may be better than one of the Warden's if you find damage piles up on just one hero.
  • Henamarth Riversong is somewhat redundant with Firyal, but can come into play earlier and is helpful when you discard the card with her.
