Two thematic decks that are actually pretty reliable.

Two ways to deal with the Hide mechanic introduced in this one. First, you can keep enough questers back to have a decent shot at successfully hiding. Or two, don't overly worry about hiding and have enough chump blockers to deal with being spotted. I chose the second method and it made my games much easier.

Fatty Bolger Included for thematic reasons but put a Hobbit Cloak on him and he suddenly seems made of sterner stuff. Indeed, Fatty can absorb a few attacks before getting tossed to the discard pile. And, since you likely won't quest with Fatty anyway, he'll be ready to block unless you use his ability - which, by the way, comes in pretty handy during critical questing phases.

Glorfindel I really love it when you can thematically include spirit Glorfindel in a deck. Love him or hate him no one can argue that he's not a powerhouse. Just get Light of Valinor on him and a weapon or two and put him to work.

Sam Gamgee A super useful character for this scenario. Obviously he'll quest but Sam is a reliable defender and can contribute when attacking after being engaged. Being able to bring the ever faithful Bill the Pony into play for nothing is huge.

With Fatty and Glorfindel in the same lineup this deck could possibly use more threat reduction. Three Gandalf, two Elrond's Counsel, and 1 The Galadhrim's Greeting is all it has now. It would be fine to remove Steward of Gondor in order to get that threat reduction.

Mulligan for Light of Valinor and/or A Test of Will with some allies.

Avoid completing the first quest stage during the first round as you will want some allies on the board.

Grind out the second stage and keep in mind that in order to complete stage three you'll have to successfully pull off a hide 3 check to travel to Buckleberry Ferry. Ideally the first player would be playing this deck when that occurs because it has more questing power.
