Started building this deck as an idea of using Lore heroes for a low-threat/secrecy solo session, and decided to go against the first Black Riders scenario. Started making a lot of changes/tweaks to customize it for the quest.

The plan is to lay low and avoid engagements with the Black Riders. Use Denethor to help avoid Hide tests, hope to get Songs out early and either Arwen Undómiel or Gildor Inglorion to start using Elrond's Counsel.

Firyal of course can also help with Encounter deck manipulation, as does Risk Some Light and Shadow of the Past. By knowing exactly how much to quest, avoid passing the first quest card by either matching the staging area threat, not exceeding the active location, or taking a small threat hit. Asfaloth helps keep up the flow of active locations.

Of course, Denethor becomes the key defender with Unexpected Courage and A Burning Brand and can deflect Black Rider attacks with Arwen Undómiel boost and heal with Self Preservation. Stall until most of the important cards are out and threat reduction cards have been played, then Will of the West the event cards back into the deck for a strong finish.

Perhaps this deck, or modified version, would do all right against some other quests as well.

Looks good, can the deck muster enough attack to kill stuff? That could be a concern against other quests.

Since you start in secrecy, how about Resourceful?

Thanks for the comment. It's true, attack is not a priority for this deck. However, in the A Shadow of the Past scenario, Mirlonde is quite versatile once equipped with both Mirkwood Long-knife weapons. Mirlonde's attack matches Black Rider enemy's defense, so any other character can pitch in on the attack to deal damage. In the latter stages of the quest, a Black Rider should be getting dispatched to the discard pile every couple of rounds.

Regarding resources, this deck is focused on stealth and encounter deck manipulation. Because this deck is tweaked against the Black Riders scenario, it is understood there is a resource boost from the Ring-bearer. Once the early portions of the scenario are safely navigated, resources should be a nonissue once songs are out. Because of this, the cards slots for Resourceful can be used by more priority-focusing cards.

Of course, I would expect some tweaks would be necessary for this deck to be successful against other quests. Perhaps this deck could even be useful as a support deck in a fellowship.
