This is the deck I used during my campaign against A knife in the dark.

I had a couple goals:

  1. Kill Bill by turn 2
  2. Have combat tricks to deal with the Nazgul on Weathertop. To achieve these goals this deck has a TON of card draw. Goal 1 To kill Bill Ferney I needed a way to attack into the staging area. This deck has two ways to do this. You can play a Galadhon Archer and then Gandalf to do the 5 points of direct damage. or You play Hail of Apples and exhaust 5 characters. Of course, Hail of Apples can be played in conjunction with either of the first option. Basically...deal 5 points of DD somehow.

Goal 2 Try to put as few Nazgul into the encounter deck as possible. On Weathertop (the final stage of the quest) you have hopefully saved a location called Weather Hills in the staging area. Travel there and stick a Nazgul under there and with the help of Henamarth Riversong make sure your is just enough to not clear it, effectively leaving that enemy out of play. Save your remaining Sneak Attacks and Hail of Stones for this stage. Use the same tricks you did to Kill Bill to take out the Nazgul in the staging area. Then, engage the Witch King and defend with Gandalf. Using all the attack power of the Silvans you can easily kill the Witch King and win the game.

General play tips: Shadow of the Past can avoid a tough treachery coming after peaking at the next card via Henamarth by placing the top card of the discard pile on the encounter deck, or can put a card with no shadow on an enemy.

Greenwood Archer and Peace, and Thought are a great combo.

Enjoy!
