The Burglar's Turn is an interesting contract. Not only are you limited by what attachments go IN the Loot Deck, but you cannot have any in your player deck either. Are these limitations balanced by the ability to put Guarded cards and expensive armor into play for 'free'? I will say right up front, this is not an ultra powerful deck. It is more of a trial deck, to get a feel for how the contract works. And I'm glad I published this deck because it's been pointed out to me that I used multiple copies of cards in my loot deck which is not allowed. I guess throw a couple different defensive and weapon cards in there?
Here is the deck in action: https://youtu.be/GklQ3uQ9sTk
One card I think you need in a Burglar Deck is Strider's Path, especially in solo. You want to travel to and clear those locations as soon as possible. I can tell after a few plays that one of the biggest benefits of this contract is how much is helps a tri-sphere deck. Normally you have to wait multiple turns to play attachments that cost 2 or more.
This decks has pretty much all the card draw I could put in because one of the downsides of the Burglar's Turn is you can NOT reliably get the attachments you need. If you want Gimli to get some Ancestral Armor you have to hope to find it, and since you are only traveling to one location a round you may be out of luck.
That is why I think this is much better in multiplayer. You should be able to put every loot card into play on somebody's hero. And, in multiplayer the locations will be more plentiful.
This deck is very easy to pilot. Send the team on the quest, ready Gimli to defend with Legolas. Ready Legolas with Gimli to kill. As you find attachments they get better at their roles. Allies help you quest and can chump. Gandalf will make many appearances. Don't take this deck up against a fast quest, this is a deck to give the Burglar a turn and see how it plays. Let me know what you think and how to improve it.
Enjoy!

Dec 14, 2019Yes, I just realized that. Man...I don't know about this one. The restrictions keep piling on. |
Dec 14, 2019It’s more of a “fun” card than a legitimate contender for a power deck. It’ll never be as good as the other contracts we have seen so far just because it’s so unpredictable. But I still like it a lot. |
Dec 14, 2019I’m thinking this contract finds its home in the dedicated support deck. Put in the full gambit of support events not worrying about the slots attachments normally take up- and as you clear locations start throwing the attachments on to your teammates heroes. |
I like the challenges a no-attachment deck brings to a deck building experiment. But you’re right, getting the attachment you need out of your loot deck will never be reliable. And even less reliable than you’ve built here, I’m afraid: you can’t have multiple copies of the same attachment in your loot deck, they all have to be different.
