As a thematic three hunters deck, most of this deck builds itself on the following principles:

  1. Use the Gimli - Legolas pairing for extra readying.
  2. Load up with lots of restricted attachments.
  3. Use Aragorn to make it both easier to kill enemies and pull all of the combat in to this deck in multiplayer.

Beyond that, this deck focuses on Ring of Thrór, which, in a deck mostly full of attachments, regularly gives you both a ready and a free attachment.

When fully loaded, Gimli is your defender, and Aragorn and Legolas are both attackers. The readying effects let you quest with Gimli and Legolas every turn, and if Aragorn gets the Steed of the North then he can reliably quest as well.

The events mostly serve to speed up the deck (Open the Armory, Foe-hammer, Unlikely Friendship, and Elven-light), while Feint gives you protection from devastating attacks and The King's Return helps you find the Ring of Thror and get Glamdring into play. Elven-light is particularly helpful, since finding just one lets you draw a card and use Legolas's readying ability (the Dwarven Shield plays a similar role in funding Gimli's readying ability).

nice, this way i would also build the "classical" 3 hunters. little changes in my version, little adjustments to make it a little more flexible:

  • 1 hauberk of mail
  • -1 dwarfen shield
  • +1-2 warhorses (aragorn)
  • -1 steed of the north
  • -1 elvenlight
  • 1 dagger for a axe
  • 2 well equipped for 2 kings return
  • gondorian shield for a ring mail

then depends on testing, 2-3warning of the dunedain for 1 celebrians stone and 1 mirkwood knife

Thanks for the comment! I traded in some of those less efficient cards for more efficient role specific ones, but it also makes the deck less consistent - I've certainly had games where I just could not draw a second restricted attachment on one character. I'll give your version a try sometime!

i wonder, i would think my sugestions would it make more constistent. they are replaced (steed of the north only for aragorn, warhorse only for aragorn, haberk of mail, dwarven shield, both only for gimli. or have beter use: dagger can used by all, gondorian shield an also used by all. so where is the less effective?

I said "efficient," rather than "effective" (since, e.g., a deck could be more effective by being more consistent even if individual cards are less efficient). I meant, for example, that Gondorian Shield is only +1 defense on Gimli since Aragorn never defends, when I'd be better off with a higher cost attachment that gives an additional boost. That, at least, is why I originally took out the Shield, and I took out the War Horses since they so often only had 1-2 enemies engaged with them. That said, I'd like to give your suggestions a try, since inconsistency is one of the two biggest weaknesses of the deck (the other being threat).

yea but before flipping conract, warhorse and gondorian shield can cost 0. and if lateron you get a better attachement, you can replace it. soecially the warhorse i would asume is in multiplayer a very good attachement for aragorn.

@defending, you never know when a hero HAS to defend ;) then the gondorian shiel can be very worth (and can put on every hero, => faster contract )
