Mulligan for Strider or Wizard Pipe in your starting hand and pick the other card with the setup-effect of „The Grey Wanderer“.
For the setup-effect of „The One Ring“ I would recommend to pick Strength and Courage

Dec 28, 2020Hi Sfrug, thanks for your comment. You‘re right - this deck is kind of tricky but a lot of fun, too. The unique allies can indeed be played from the top of your deck in the planning phase only, except for getting them into play by Timely Aid (even in later phases). But for being able to pay their high cost, you need to prepare yourself anyway (by attaching Resourceful or getting some money from the contract). I mostly try to first build up Gandalf with his toys (since they are neutral you can play them from your hand) and the ˋMaster´- attachments (since they are not unique, you can play the first one from your hand and a second one from the top of your deck if needed). |

It seems like you'd be limited to playing two sphered cards per planning phase—one with the contract, and one from the top of your deck. Is that enough? And most of the allies (I think?) would have to be played from the top of your deck, since the contract doesn't let you play uniques. (Timely aid would work too, of course.) Have you found that to be a problem, or is that sufficient?
