Lord Toby 22

Lord Toby has a newer deck inspired by this one: Endure the Wild

This deck was built specifically for A Journey to Rhosgobel. Key here is to get Radagast on the table and quest as quickly as possible. Then put the brakes on just short of stage 3 until enough healing is amassed. Use Radagast only for healing Wilyador and this keeps your head above water until you either draw enough Athelss or Lore of Imladris. If it plays longer and you have resources to spare, play Nor am I a Stranger on Eleanor and if you need to counter two treacheries use Born Aloft on Éomund.

You cannot use Actions during the staging step so the Nor am I a Stranger + Eleanor + Éomund combo does not work.

Thanks for this. It is certainly limited, and maybe not worthwhile, but can be applied after staging but before resolution of the quest, which is when you may be adding Athelas to the stage and turn up another Treachery. May also be applied prior to travel, which can also cause a Treachery to be revealed. No?

Wasn't the extra reveal (by damaging Wilyador) before the staging step? Anyway why not simply use Unexpected Courage for that?

The part about the Treachery during the travel phase is not clear to me. Was there a location in the quest that required to reveal an encounter card to Travel there?

Correct, so you couldn't use it with the response on stage 2B. The two instances I was thinking of, which had caught me out previously, were when Forest Grove is explored and when travelling to Mountains of Mirkwood (your second question). Unexpected courage would be far simpler, yes. I was trying to find a use for as many eagle-themed cards as possible.
