When you get those secrecy cards out right away... and the right cards into the victory display... then this deck can be pretty solid. While the deck may not be as consistently awesome as I might like, it still will usually at least hold up its end of the quest and gosh darn, it's just SO satisfying when you can start playing Keen as Lances for free or slap down a The Door is Closed!! While I really like playing this deck, I don't have much faith in it for solo play.
Basic deck need break-down:
Questing- In its ideal form the heroes are questing for 9 plus more from the allies. Add in Asfaloth and while it's not power questing, it is decent.
Combat- Fortunately, the low threat means you probably won't have to engage enemies for awhile, because while Rossiel has the potential to become an incredible defender, that does take time to set up.
Resources- You're good to go if you get Resourceful right away, but even without it, you're not hosed as most of the cards are pretty cheap.
Card Draw- There's a few methods, with Daeron's Runes and Gléowine probably being the most consistent.
Threat Control- Low starting threat plus Elrond's Counsel.
*note: Keen as Lances can help cover the weakness for any of those last three categories.
My Standard Disclaimer: I don't play on Octgn or at a game store. I play solo or with my friends, who all use the decks that I have built. This means that I try to keep lots of pre-made decks lying around (I have over 10 at the moment). This further means that those popular standards (A Test of Will, Unexpected Courage, Steward of Gondor, Feint, etc) tend to get spread around and mostly my decks aren't perfectly optimized. Rather than post the perfected versions, I've opted to post what actually ends up getting played at my house.

Aug 18, 2016They work reasonably well together. Unfortunately, the Beorn deck uses the Hero Arwen, which prevents ally Arwen from hitting the table. When the Rossiel deck is at its best, Rossiel is a 5+ defense with Burning Brand that can defend across the table thanks to gaining Sentinel from Arwen. However, since the Beorn deck doesn't especially need the defending help, I think they'd still work just fine, just substitute ally Arwen for some other cheap spirit cards. |
I like to keep my decks together, also. I travel some for work, so I often try to get a pair of decks together and bring a cycle with me. Would this deck pair well with your Beorn one?
