This is my first time making use of ALeP's semi-new contract in a solid deck. It may be a predictable pairing, but it works really well. It's also a very thematic pairing, as you can imagine the Dunedain and Noldor holding a final stand in Rivendell against the forces of Mordor after the Ring-bearer has fallen. Mechanically, Elrond and Amarthiúl are powerful heroes, and for them both to get +1 of everything and extra readying is great. The B side also feels very powerful and thematic, and overall, I think this is a fun new contract that makes a unique game even more interesting.
As far as piloting advice:
Mulligan for Heir of Valandil and a defender you can buy as fast as possible like Defender of Rammas (which you can buy T1 if you also draw Dúnedain Hunter). Master of the Forge is also nice to get early on.
All your Dunedain allies (Guardian of Arnor, Warden of Annúminas and Fornost Bowman) are amazing for their stats at the end of the game. Get them out as you can, and soon you'll be unstoppable.
You do want Vilya on the table pretty soon, but it's actually not really necessary - this isn't a Vilya deck.
Round 4 is situational. Grab whatever you need, but I like to get 2 Guardians of Arnor and buy them right away with your initial windfall of 6 resources.
At the end of the game, you'll be defending with huge amounts of defense, attacking back like crazy and questing insanely high, all the while getting great card draw and resources from Knowledge of the Enemy and Sarn Ford Sentry.
At the end of all things, Elrond and the Dunedain will stand firm!
Happy questing!
