This deck is part of a two-deck Fellowship used to play A Shadow of the Past for the Cardboard of the Rings Quest of the Week.
The Fellowship description contains details of the quest playthrough and campaign mode information.
A Shadow of the Past has some tricky features including Hide Tests and the Black Riders enemies.
To counter the quest the deck features a lot of , action advantage, and side quests.
Aragorn and Glorfindel are used for their strong stats, but also for thematic/campaign considerations. They are joined by Éowyn for her exceptional .
The plan for the deck is to use its 9 starting to both quest and ensure Hide tests are passed (with Light of Valinor making additional available). There is also plenty of power in the deck to deal with Black Riders as they show up. If needed, Arwen Undómiel can allow Sentinel defending, and Aragorn can make Ranged attacks with Rivendell Bow, providing additional combat support.
Both decks in the Fellowship feature plenty of side quests to stall on Stage 1 and build up strength. Keep Watch is particularly good for reducing the danger posed by the Nazgûl.
This deck includes Sting, which is intended to be attached to Sam Gamgee in the partner deck. There is only one eligible (easy) enemy in the encounter deck that can guard this card, so the reward does not carry much risk. Similarly, the partner deck includes Asfaloth for use on Glorfindel.
