Wanted to create a deck that used most of the amusing Hobbit attachments and events, whilst keeping it as thematic as possible with the accompanying allies. Just played this deck through the Revised Core Set in campaign mode, and it performed pretty well — defeating Escape from Dol Guldur on the second(!) attempt (might have been lucky there).
No special tricks: put all the weapons you can on Merry, use Mendor and Pippin to draw cards; boost Sam Gamgee and the Bywater Shirriff, keeping your threat low with Hobbit Pipe, Smoke Rings and A Good Harvest.
Mulligan for Resourceful and put the first one on Frodo Baggins in the hope of getting out Northern Tracker.
