Grandson of Gror 1
Alatar goes north from Rhun with his entourage. He meets Dáin Ironfoot, Lord of the Iron Hills. They talk about trading iron ore for horns from the Kine of Araw or some such. Mutually profitable.
Dain has a long memory. He does not forget Alatar even after he becomes King under the Mountain. They are friends forever.

How to play this deck (I think - I don't think I know all of the tricks for the Easterlings).
Quest just enough with Alatar + Strider. Use Emissary of the East and your Variag Recluses to place progress on the quest.
For combat, use Wizard Pipe to bring You Cannot Pass! to the top of your deck as much as possible. Dain defends and discards You Cannot Pass. Alatar attacks for 9. Bring back You Cannot Pass with the Luin Cultist. Place another progress on the quest.
Longbeard Sentries and Dain are your discarding engines for Hidden Caches and Ered Luin Miners.

This deck was tested against The Caves of Nibin-Dum and Journey Along the Anduin. It won pretty easily. (And I somehow had enough resources to use Word of Persuasion on a hill troll, who then attacked a marsh adder.)

If we get another Easterling ally, a The Last Alliance deck of dwarves and Easterlings could be interesting.
