The Shapeshifting Scourge of Rivendell

A strange disease has afflicted Rivendell, transforming the ancient Noldor elves into shapeshifters. Fortunately, with the aid of Círdan and Grimbeorn, they are restored to their true forms. This deck harnesses the power of shapeshifters to recover Noldor characters from your discard pile, embodying the very theme of restoration.

Heroes

Arwen Undómiel: Her ability allows you to discard Noldor allies for resources, fueling your strategy while simultaneously preparing them for revival. She's also a strong quester.

Círdan the Shipwright: Boasting excellent stats, he's a versatile hero. His access to Narya provides incredible action advantage, often granting more than one Unexpected Courage effect.

Grimbeorn the Old: The ultimate defender and attacker, he can also summon the mighty Beorning Skin-changer directly into play.

Mulligan & Setup

When setting up, prioritize mulliganing for Birna and Beorning Skin-changer. Another powerful starting combination is Unexpected Courage with Narya, providing immediate action advantage.

Strategy & Card Interactions

The core of this deck revolves around a dynamic interplay between discarding, reviving, and leveraging your shapeshifters and Noldor allies:

Resource Generation & Revival: Discard Noldors allies for resources, this allows you to bring them into play using the The Last Alliance contract and Beorning Skin-changer ability.

On subsequent turns, play again Beorning Skin-changer with Birna to bring another ally into play. Then, shuffle the Skin-changer back into your deck, preparing them for another powerful re-entry later.

Elrond's Healing Touch: Utilize Birna in conjunction with The Last Alliance to summon Elrond from your discard pile. His healing capabilities are invaluable, especially when combined with Narya to use him twice before returning him to your deck.

Location Control: Beorning Guardian is your go-to for negating location locks or troublesome travel effects.

Balanced Approach: The overall strategy is straightforward: use your Noldor characters for questing, your Beornings for combat, and Círdan to fill any gaps or provide crucial action advantage.

Sideboard Considerations Galadriell: This deck's mechanics do not synergize well with Galadriel's abilities.

Guardian of Rivendell & Imladris Stargazer: These allies are generally not essential to the deck's core strategy.
