Darkling Door 6446
This deck was built by my partner to help me with a post on errata for my blog, Darkling Door.
A (mostly) thematic Rohan deck, with a focus on attack and defense, despite the two heroes.
Strategy
I keep my threat low with Fastred to power threat-lower-than-engagement-cost abilities on cards like Unseen Strike and Dagger of Westernesse. Using Fastred's ability also conveniently puts enemies into Dúnhere's boosted line of fire. Háma recurs Events, particularly Unseen Strike or Foe-hammer.
Attachments
I'm looking to get Raiment of War and/or Captain of Gondor on FastredASAP – he will be my defender. Spear of the Mark goes on Dúnhere, and the Dagger of Westernesse goes on Háma.
Allies
I have some questing power here, but not much. I found these Rohan allies’ discard/leave play abilities to be handy to have around.
Discussion
Ultimately, Háma's ability to recur Unseen Strike plus a generally lower-threat deck meant that I was able to hold out against larger enemies until my full Dúnhere & Fastred army was up and running. By recurring Unseen Strike, I kept the table relatively clear of threats until I was able to consistently destroy enemies without recurring Events.
Also I think it’s important to mention, in light of the recent errata, that I wasn’t wishing I could use Háma to recur more than three Events. By the time I had played that third Unseen Strike, the rest of my engine was rarin’ and ready go.
