First self-build deck based on experience with the 4 Core Sphere Decks. Used only and since those did well.
Results
Played 'Passage Through Mirkwood' twice.
1 - Defeat: Questing was bad. Threat 50 at Stage 1.
2 - Victory: Questing was realy good. Gimli died. Score: 115
Analysis
Deck didn't work out as intended. Had to use Gimli for questing all the time instead of attacking. Used Allies and Aragorn (since he can be readied after questing) for fighting. Steward of Gondor works well for blocking 'Caught in a Web'. Also, I didn't manage to get Celebrían's Stone even once which made the cards useless. Research management however is amazing with this deck.
Ideas
- Need to get more questing without losing too much resources. Maybe add Éowyn.
- Maybe find a way to get more card draw (adding is no option).

Feb 05, 2018No, I agree that the spirit starter deck is very weak, along with the other starter decks. I just meant that the spirit sphere, overall, is very powerful. |

I would substitute Gimli for Éowyn. Spirit is probably the most powerful sphere despite the starter deck’s performance. You would have much better questing, lower threat, and better access to all of those amazing spirit cards. Stand and Fight would help with “ card draw.”
My “ escape from dol guldur solo” deck is a good example of that hero lineup, but it is specialized for a certain quest.
