I'm continuing through the weekly quests without using the core set. I only have cards up to Dwarrowdelf and the Hobbit saga so my options are limited but it's a fun twist for me to not just auto-include a bunch of core set staples.

This is a straightforward, if not ideal, dwarf deck. I aim to get allies out as quick as possible and hopefully get a good use out of A Very Good Tale since resources are at a minimum.

I played Journey Along the Anduin a couple of times. I bailed the first time around. I ended up under questing, drawing more enemies than I had dwarves, and heroes were falling.

The second time went better. I got Fili (and Kili) early and was able to a number of allies on the table. Dáin Ironfoot got a A Burning Brand and was able to defend a lot of enemies even though he had 4 damage already on him. Mid-game, I got Gandalf onto the table for 3 rounds which skyrocketed my threat but really help take out the numerous baddies. I won the game at 47 threat.

If I were to do it again, I'd switch Balin with Bombur. Balin's ability was never used and the Bombur ally is expensively worthless. Probably toss in a song to help pay for leadership cards.
