This has proven to be an incredibly fun, durable, and competitive deck that I’ve taken so far successfully through all the nightmare scenarios of the Mirkwood cycle and a few others.
This deck excels in its unbelievable durability - both in terms of raw stats that come from the ents as well as incredible healing. As the deck name suggests, these ents will often live forever.
As is the case with ent decks, it does take a couple rounds to get set up and rolling but my goodness, the deck becomes an absolute wrecking ball that can quest hard, defend anything, and kill enemies with ease.
You absolutely need to mulligan for good old Steward of Gondor to help with resource acceleration. I like to get Rainment of War fairly early on Erkenbrand which along with his ability, makes him a defensive monster.
There is a ton of healing in this deck which really helps accelerate your tempo and game plan as you can really abuse Treebeards and Erkenbrands abilities with little need of caution because you know you can heal off that damage with Warden of Healing, Lembas, Wellinghall Preserver, and just having the luxury of increase hit points from Raiment of War and Ent Draught. And man, maybe I’m late to the party with Dunedain Remedy but my goodness what an unbelievable card that gets great value out of the extra resources I’ve often accumulated by the mid to late game.
I tried to “Cram” (terrible joke...I’m sorry) as much readying as possible with cards like Cram, Lembas, and Boomed and Trumpeted to really maximize the power of Treebeard and Erkenbrand.
Overall, I’ve been super impressed with this deck. It’s a powerful deck that is a lot of fun to play and pilot. As always, if you have any comments or suggestions let me know. But otherwise I hope you enjoy the deck! Game on
Sorry but you cannot play Lembas here. What about Denethor instead of Erkenbrand, Gondorian Shield instead of Lembas and Armored Destrier instead of Raiment of War? This way you can play steward turn 1 and you still get a good defender with Denethor.
