My first successful deck for Journey Down the Anduin. First game I got annihilated by an onslaught of enemies before I could gather resources. Second game enemies laid off long enough for resource gathering, bringing in allies, and then it was mostly smooth sailing. Until the final push, when a shadow effect killed ThéodredTheodred. Still at that point I only needed to take out two enemies to win, and with the help of Gandalf the final turn, we did.

There are two options for dealing with the Hill Troll: The Galadhrim's Greeting and Forest Snare. With either of these in the first hand, or first couple of draws, the Hill Troll can either be held back in staging or trapped once he is engaged.

My previous attempt at a deck - Leadership and Spirit (Glóin, Dúnhere and Éowyn - faced the problem of no ability to heal and weak card draw. Bringing in Lore for the healing and the card draw definitely turned the game around. My initial concerns about the slow drip of resources (with only one per turn per sphere) turned out to be really not that much of a concern, especially with the special ability of Théodred to add an extra resource .
