I've always been a fan of the Hobbit archetype, taking on tougher enemies sooner than is expected for the sake of high rewards. My first foray into this style was thanks to the Deck "Stings Like a Bee" originally featured on the Tales from the Cards blog (RingsDB decklist: http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/535/sting-like-a-bee-1.0). After that I was hooked. Not only did this style of gameplay become addicting for me but so did taking advantage of Sam Gamgee's ability, especially once I figured it could be triggered multiple times without limitations.

The main purpose of the deck is to beef up Merry and Aragorn in the beginning, with cards like Dagger of Westernesse and Blade of Gondolin. Cards such as Bill the Pony and Defender of Rammas help to give the deck some assistance in the early game while the board is being set up.

Once Merry and Aragorn are decked out with weapons and other attachments then the shenanigans can begin. Ideally Merry and Aragorn will take out an enemy, then engage another, kill it and engage again. With enough triggers Sam Gamgee can be swinging for decent amounts of damage as the final attacker.

Taking a less combative approach, cards like the Westfold Outrider can be used to boost Sam's during questing. I suppose it's possible that if an enemy starts the turn engaged with us that a card like Quick Strike can be used in the planning phase to get Sam Gamgee going a bit earlier than expected, taking advantage of Aragorn and Merry's partnership.

I haven't piloted this deck in awhile but it fairs well when partnered with a defense and questing oriented deck.
