Beat in solo: The Oath, Intruders in Chetwood, Beneath the Sands.

Beat in multiplayer: Fire in the Night.

Play Strider with the Grey Wanderer during setup. Once you have a few allies out, its willpower boost goes away, at which point you'll want a Silver Circlet to compensate.

Look for a Resourceful or Timely Aid in your opening hand, since these are only useful when your threat is 20 or less and you'll want to find a way to get your allies into the game as soon as possible. Later in the game, these cards might still be played if you have a Vanish from Sight in hand. (Note: You can still legally play Vanish from Sight, then Timely Aid if you have Narya attached to Cirdan, as that gives access to .) Other useful cards to look for in your opening hand are Narya or Arwen Undómiel.

When it comes to Cirdan's forced discard every round, most of the allies may be safely discarded, as they can be resurrected via Stand and Fight (and Glorfindel can played from the discard) - except for Treebeard, as he does not "belong to any sphere of influence," being a neutral card. Elven-light, of course, is included as an auto-discard.

In addition to Cirdan, Arwen Undómiel, and Bofur, Treebeard and one or more Wellinghall Preservers can quest.

Then, in combat, you can declare the Derndingle Warrior as a defender, and check the shadow card first before choosing whether to damage him and boost his defense to 5. (He can reach a defense of 6, if you have already boosted him from a questing Arwen Undómiel.)

Then, you can exhaust Narya and Cirdan to ready a Wellinghall Preserver (and another Ent, preferably Treebeard), thus healing the damage from the Derndingle Warrior before applying any damage from the attack.

Now, Treebeard and the Wellinghall Preserver have a boosted attack total of 8. If you ready Cirdan with Cram or Unexpected Courage, he can join this attack for a total of 10 - plenty to kill most enemies.

Notes on the Sideboard: In general, these will be more useful when playing in multiplayer. Power of Orthanc can be included depending on the quest. (You don't really don't want Cirdan to be Weighed Down (http://hallofbeorn.com/LotR/Details/Weighed-Down-TWoR?Lang=EN), for example!)
