I made this deck after finishing the Angmar Awakened campaign as a challenge to myself to see if I could finally beat a quest true solo using a mono- deck, and to see how many of my unplayed cards I could finally get played. I played it against Passage Through Mirkwood and I won, and it was so satisfying! I doubt this deck could stand up to any of the harder quests though.

This deck contains two "packages." One package is an Eagle package consisting of Eagles of the Misty Mountains, Vassal of the Windlord, Winged Guardian and The Eagles Are Coming!. (Landroval is in there too for funsies.) The other package is a Weapon package consisting of Bofur, Foe-hammer and the three 1-cost Weapon attachments.

How I play this deck:

  • Bring out allies as soon as you can. I knew that the weakness of a mono-tactics deck would be , so I put in as many 2- allies as I owned. Beechbone's ability is not important. Once the Ered Mithrin cycle is re-released, Beechbone will be replaced with Meneldor.

  • The deck's main method of progress is Legolas. Aragorn and Merry are basically questers until you get enough allies out.

  • Merry is there to attack with Legolas to be a pseudo-Unexpected Courage. There is otherwise no Hobbit synergy in this deck.

Notes on card choices:

  • Straight Shot is there because this iteration of the deck is specifically to handle Journey Along the Anduin, where there are many 0 enemies like Goblin Snipers and 1 enemies like Hill Trolls that Aragorn can reduce to 0. If you're not playing against a quest like this, swap it out for something like Honour Guard or Secret Vigil.

  • To the Eyrie is only really here because I have never played it and I want to see if I can actually get it played. Feel free to swap it out for something else.
