DazeMan 710

This is the Legion of Boom. AKA Boromir’s New Band.

Performance Note: I used this deck partnered with a Silvan deck to beat Attack on Dol Guldur. Here is the Silvan DL: http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/7085/aodg-silvan-1.0

After the Eratta of Boromir, I became excited to build a different kind of deck with him. The synergy between Beregond and his general, is a nice mashup for a combat focused deck.

Unfortunately because of the lack of I don’t think it is a viable option in a 1-handed solo game. However, it partners really well with a good Questing deck, since it has the capability to handle combat extremely well.

Piloting Instructions

What is nice about this deck, is that it is not very complicated. I would suggest a mulligan in order to try to start off with Steward of Gondor. Another nice card to see early is Gondorian Shield. Each of your heroes can equip a shield, but Beregond is priority #1 to get it on.

Once you have Steward, Boromir is the most optimal target for it because of the cost curve as well as for powering up Gondorian Fire and Blood of Númenor. This is by no means a new tactic for making a super Boromir, but his power feels a lot more harnessed and appropriate in this deck.

Some good strategies for the deck are to allow Beregond to defend First since he is the least likely hero to take damage from any enemy boosts. If you can get an Armored Destrier on him, he is very very good. Hopefully you can trigger his ability often, which basically negates the penalty of the first time you use Boromir’s ability in a round.

I typically like to use Boromir as an attacker, once he is powered up with Fire on him. In the mid-late game, he should easily be able to kill 2 enemies in the combat phase. I also like to target him with Arwen Undómiel to have another sentinel and have a strengthened defender, just in case.

Once you are able to get Steward equipped Denethor does not have a ton of use with his resources, so don’t be afraid to pass them around to your other heroes, or fuel Déorwine ability. To get Faramir on the table in the mid-late game, I typically like to use Captain's Wisdom for the resource boost.

Simple Strategy tips

Open the Armory is a great card to see if you don’t have a Shield in hand.

Gandalf is the only source of reduction, so I suggest using him for that.

Don’t be afraid to spend Boromir’s resources, Blood and Fire are very powerful, but it is always nice to have more allies on the table.

Hopefully anyone who gives this deck a try really enjoys it. I look forward to hearing everyone’s feedback.

This deck is very well put together. I especially appreciate the details like Dèorwine and using Captain’s Wisdom to pay for Faramir in thr mid game. Excellent work!
