First off, this deck is meant to be used in multiplayer, typically with my abomination of a CĂrdan the Shipwright deck; that's why there's an egregious lack of A Test of Will, Hasty Stroke, and threat reduction. If you have multiple Core Sets, by all means include as much of that as you want, but the deck at least semi-works (at least, against The Drowned Ruins,) without it.

Opening hand:

-Look for Strider or To the Sea, to the Sea! and a Noldor ally. Strider makes Argalad downright amazing while To the Sea! both allows you to get cheaper allies and gain access to the surprisingly-helpful "Action: Discard a card from your hand" equivalent.

How the deck plays:

-Build up a questing army, holding back Argalad if you don't have Strider and there's an enemy in the staging area or a good chance of one popping up. -Once your Guardians of Rivendell are in play, you can actually take a surprising amount of combat. -Interrogation is really helpful for avoiding Surge. -Save Scouting Party for turns where you need to quest push; the boost it gives more than makes up for the characters you have to hold back because they're not Scouts.

That's really it; you quest for a lot, do some encounter manipulation, handle a pinch of combat and some location control. The hardest part about using this, aside from its power level (which isn't good,) is deciding what cards to discard for the various Noldor effects, but even that's not too hard.

If anyone sees this and can make a better Argalad-Strider deck, please let me know, I'd be very interested to see what you come up with.
