Welcome to Recursion Háma. This deck centers around two main ideas; generating resources, and then building a Háma recursion machine.

The resources are generated through Arwen Undómiel and Théodred's special abilities. Each turn they provide an extra two resources, plus once Steward of Gondor is in play, this deck can generate six resources prior to questing each round (plus a seventh at the start of questing). Those resources then feed into the recursion machine.

The main two components of the recursion machine are Elven-light and either Hands Upon the Bow or Quick Strike. Once you have two of the tactics event cards (one can be in your discard already), the machine is ready to go. For example, use Quick Strike to attack an enemy with Háma, since both tactics cards declare him as an attacker, he can use his ability to pull the second one from the discard pile. Then, discard the Elven-light as his ability's forced discard. Then you can pull it back with Arwen Undómiel, while also drawing a card. This resets the machine. In essence, for one exhaustion of Háma and a 1 tactics and 1 spirit resource, you get 1 attack and a card draw. This machine can go as long as you have resources and readying options for the attacks.

Notably, both of the tactics events can be used before you have to defend, so once the combo is set up, you should be able to get away with never having to defend an attack again unless you can't get through an enemy's defense or if they are indestructible. Even then, running the machine will still allow you draw cards in exchange for resources each round.

To get the combat power for Háma, Gondorian Fire can be drawn or forged with Master of the Forge. The allies provide the questing power needed to play this deck in solo mode. Gandalf can provide card draw to get the deck started or threat reduction as needed. In case the combo hasn't been set up, you can still turn Háma into a respectable defender with Blood of Númenor.
