This is the first Dale deck I have built that I've been really happy with. It excels at questing and can handle combat fairly effectively after the first round (which can sometimes be tough, depending on the quest). A good opening hand has King of Dale, at least one ally, and an attachment suitable for that ally. I've enjoyed playing this style of deck, and the deck has consistently beaten some fairly difficult quests, including Into Ithilien and Nightmare The Seventh Level.

The general goal is to get Guardian of Esgaroth set up with Wild Stallion, Valiant Determination, and another attachment. With Bard son of Brand, this makes him a 6/5/5/5 ally who doesn't exhaust to quest, which is pretty amazing. The card draw from Bard son of Brand, Galadriel, and Long Lake Fisherman helps him get set up quickly.

I've found that card draw in Dale decks is very important, which is why Galadriel is here - she will nearly always be used for threat reduction and card draw, which helps a lot both for the cards and because there isn't much deck space left for threat reduction. I found I didn't need her mirror, as Long Lake Fisherman really shines here to fetch whatever you are missing. Can't find King of Dale or Guardian of Esgaroth? Name 2. Really need an attachment? Try 0. Need one of your stronger allies? 3.

This deck can be a bit squishy in the early game due to lack of a solid defender, but Redwater Sentry or Guardian of Esgaroth are pretty easy to set up and I nearly always get a character with at least 3 by round 2. My initial iterations of this deck used heroes like Grimbeorn the Old in the third slot to hand early combat, but I've found this version with Galadriel to be far superior. Her card draw helps the deck set up very quickly.
