Dec 13, 2019I also think timely aid might be a good addition for you here, to play turn one. |
Dec 14, 2019My idea with DĂșnedain Warning was that, while early on I found myself using the Grey Wanderer for resources + healing, after a short while (i.e. after a few applications of Resourceful), I simply didn't need the extra resources much any longer, so using it's readying & healing can help Treebeard defend in situations where doing so with a Derndingle Warrior would result in it dying, which gives a Wellinghall Preserver time to heal it back to a safety zone. Mostly a flexibility concern for me. When I tested it, I didn't find I had any problem with the paying for the tactics Ents, since Grey Wanderer gives you one non-unique play without needing a resource match each round, and I usually wanted to get my lore ents out more quickly where possible anyway. But including Song of Battle would let you play the unique tactics Ents like Beechbone and Skinbark, so it could be worth it. Timely Aid could be a pretty good addition, and if for some reason none popped up early enough to be used under secrecy, the worst case scenario is that they could simply be discarded with Daeron's Runes. |
I think this is a pretty awesome take on the contract. I am curious as to what purpose the warning serves. Is your goal to quest (strider), defend, and attack (ready with contract) with treebeard? Not a bad strategy.
What are your thoughts on including the song of battle to help pay for the tactics ents?
