This morning I listened to Cardtalk's newest episode over spirit Bofur. During the episode, Ted talked about a combo using Bofur, Nor am I a Stranger, and Horn of the Mark to create a card draw engine. I was inspired and wanted to try and build a deck around that combo and this is what I came up with.
There are a ton of potential combos in this deck outside of the Bofur combo I just described. Probably the most important card for making the deck really click is Ring of Thrór. This allows you to keep Dain's global dwarf buff even after he blocks or attacks and there are quite a few attachments that you want for the combo. Imladris Stargazer lets you setup which cards you will draw and discard for the current and future turns. You can potentially be strained on spirit resources, so I suggest putting Necklace of Girion on Nori. I usually put Steward of Gondor on Dain, but I think you could put it on Nori in a pinch.
I have only played three games with this deck so far and it does seem pretty strong if you can stall at the beginning until you get your attachments and board state established. I think this could be a good multiplayer deck so that others can handle early combat and questing for you, especially if they are using any dwarves that can benefit from Dain's global ability.
Just a small correction: if you use Bofur's Quest Action you "put into play" him, you do not "play" him, so Nori's Response will not trigger. Still the Nor am I a Stranger Horn of the Mark combo with Bofur is a good one, but it might be faster to use Merry if you also want some theat reduction.
