Challenge: Play Shelob's Lair using a deck where each card costs 3.
I have never put so much thought and time into formulating a deck. This challenge is very difficult, and especially with my limited collection, I realized my best chance would probably be to use Bond of Friendship. With no defense boosting attachments available to me other than Support of the Eagles, which wouldn't really have worked anyway, I decided to use Dáin Ironfoot, because of his ability to defend for 6 out of the gate. Éowyn was chosen for her threat decrease, high willpower, and one round smack. The hero choice was the hardest, as evidenced by the presence of two other options in my sideboard. I finally went with Faramir because action advantage is going to be vital, and his 2/2/2 stateliness means I can basically use him for anything, making him a useful hero here, not to mention the fact the he came in the box with Shelob's Lair. Folco Boffin was chosen because of his threat reduction, and decent and for cheap threat cost. The actual starting threat will be 33: minus 3 from Eowyn, and minus an additional one since we will have Frodo Baggins as well. I will either use TBR Frodo Baggins or TMoF Frodo Baggins.
There are a few synergies present in the chosen cards. Thorongil will be especially useful, as three of my four heroes have alternate versions. Dáin Ironfoot can be good because there are a good number of Dwarves present. I will comment on my deck with a session report. Here we go!
"Let him go, you filth!"
