Bear T. Big 5
This is a deck I made with only the core set. I have only played a couple of times, and am looking for advice and revisions to this deck. Any input is both welcome and appreciated. The key to this deck is restarting till you draw both [Celebrían's Stone] and [Steward of Gondor] at the beginning.

Mar 10, 2021You might consider filling that third hero slot with Théodred ! Limiting yourself to just two heroes in Core set puts you at a major resource disadvantage. If nothing else, you can quest with both Aragorn and Théodred, send the resource generated from Théodred’s ability to Aragorn and use it to ready him. Classic core set combo! Also, two Leadership heroes allows you to play Steward of Gondor on turn 1, and you can immediately use Steward for two more resources to play Celebrían's Stone as well. This gives you a great head start against the encounter deck! |
Mar 10, 2021Granted, that 3rd hero puts you at 30 threat, which I’m sure you know makes that Hill Troll in Journey Down the Anduin none too happy lol. Part of the fun of the core set is working out a deck that deals with that turn one menace in staging :] |
Mar 11, 2021Thanks for the advice, and when I play solo I certainly will add those cards, but I am not sure I want the hill troll to jump me turn one because of [Théodred]. This deck is a little low on attack power, so I thought I would bring a tactics friend to finish off that hill troll. |
I would add a second The Galadhrim's Greeting, A Test of Will, and Hasty Stroke.
