When Fellowship came out, i was really entertained, but after testing the other contracts it feels... boring. It's a race to the 9-character treeshold, and after you have nothing more to do. And if you loose a character during questing or combat, you loose the benefits until the next planning phase.
But Thranduil's ability allows us to bypass it, and get back the fellowship bonus when you need it : during combat phase. So i tried to build a Fellowship arond Silvan characters.
But where is the fun in a silvan fellowship ? You loose all the fun Responses of the non-uniques allies, leaving only Orophin's and RĂºmil's... Hey, what if i builded around him ?
Argalad is an obvious choice. He is the only non-ally ranged silvan left, opens the events, and has a direct damage synergy. He is a good target for The Elvenking.
For the last spot, i picked Bard the Bowman because :
- allows me to play Rivendell Bow on my non-ranged silvans
- i play almost always multiplayer, and i know he is
badnot a very popular hero - thematically goes well with Thranduil (as does Argalad btw)
- i can't say no to a gorgeous Magali Villeneuve artwork.
Another possibility could have been Lanwyn and all the great cards (A Test of Will, Light of Valinor, Unexpected Courage...).
Finally, i added Gandalf and Wilyador to enhance the little "Battle of the Five Armies" touch (sorry Yazan).
I will try this deck! Oh yes.. to learn different combos
