I just finished playing my Solo Saga Campaign today, so I thought I would take Into the West for a spin. I didn't see any decks posted, yet, so for your consideration...
I think I built the deck correctly. It should have x10 of cards costing 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. I did not see anything suggesting there were any limitations of 0 cost cards, so I threw in some of the hits.
It's a Vilya deck, but I think the Hero line up is at least thematic for the Contract. In my version of things, Boromir comes back to life (as do a number of other allies I'm sure).
When I first read the contract, I was skeptical how powerful it would be. In the one game I've played (The Oath), it was RIDICULOUSLY strong! Through a lucky draw, I was able to use Vilya to put Gandalf into play on the first turn. He quested without exhausting (thanks to Galadriel), killed an enemy, and then faded off into the sunset, becoming 5 resources for Elrond and an extra card draw to boot. For the next 5 or so rounds, I was able to keep the train moving, putting out 2-3 high cost allies per round between Elrond's ring and the war chest he was amassing.
My reading of the contract is that you can play a duplicate copy of an ally that has previously left play from its Forced effect. That was handy because it allowed me to re-play several Harad allies on a couple of occasions because I was either holding a duplicate copy, or knew another copy was coming from Imladris Stargazer.
I'm looking forward to taking this deck up against some harder quests. I'm guessing that my opening hand and first couple of rounds were probably Top 10% for ideal circumstances. (I didn't draw into Steward of Gondor until the third round, so it COULD have been better, technically!) Still, I think this is going to be a very strong contract, and I'm interested to see what more creative people do with it!
