My goal was to make a single hero deck using only Galadriel. I've only tested it a few times, so expect to see some tweeks soon. If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them!
(I really wanted to include her handmaidens and keen as lances for thematic reasons but they just wouldn't fit into the deck).

Jul 31, 2016Elf-stone is definitely nice once she has the sphere match. I would include Anfalas Herdsman to get additional willpower, thanks to Ethir Swordsman. You may want to consider Sword-thain to hopefully get additional willpower going, as well as OHAUH Gandalf to maintain willpower from turn to turn. |
Jul 31, 2016The deck plays surprisingly well, though I feel it could be better. I beat a nightmare deck with it (though I had a lucky draw of 2 Elrond's councils and 2 resourcefuls early on, giving me a threat of 2). Not being able to quest early sucks, but it's easy enough to soak up threat for a while as long as nothing is going to come down for you. @Authraw: Curious Brandybuck is a fantastic idea! Thanks. I'll definitely give that a try! Elfstone is a great card for this deck to. Thanks @Mirkwoodrunner (Love your blog and your channel btw): I considered Anfalas herdsman, I was weary about another card from lore as I need Nenya, but so far I haven't had an issue getting the Preservers out, so I may take your suggestion there. Also, I did consider the OHUH Gandalf, but I feel like I'm getting a lot of value from the Core Gandalf because of Galadriel's questing ability while OHUH Gandalf already quests without exhausting. It's something to consider, and I'll try playtesting it. Some cards I've considered removing after some playtesting: Leaf Brooch. Haven't used it much. It could just be the luck of the draw so far though. Galadrim's Greeting. I feel this is going to come in really handy one time,, but as of right now it hasn't. The deck's MVP's thus far is Glorfindel and the Wellinghall preservers. Also, I'll note I play solo. I think as of right now this is a very strong multiplayer deck. It doesn't have a lot of cards that are going to get in the way of other players. But I really want to make it a viable solo deck because that's how I play 90% of the time. |
How well does this deck play? In the early game you won't be able to quest, fight, or play down many cards so I imagine it's pretty rough until you get established.
Curious Brandybuck might make a good free ally in the early game. Elf-stone might help once you get Nenya down.
