Tolkien described Sam as the real hero of the story of LotR. This deck sees him really live up to that name by making him a grade A Nazgul slayer! The main design of the deck it to maintain a super low deck whilst you get yourself set up with allies, attachments and an economy. Then, when your way through the backlog of enemies in staging.

Principle 1: Mecha Sam

Get Nor am I a Stranger, Herugrim and Celebrían's Stone on Sam Gamgee, ideally with Rosie Cotton in play. This has him smacking at 10, enough to kill most things in the game with ease. Protector of Lórien makes him even stronger.

Principle 2: Gildor Inglorion, Treebeard, Gimli and Pippin will share defending duties, although you won't be taking more than one hit from any enemy (if things go to plan).

Princple 3: Threat There is tons of threat reduction included, preferably to be played when a couple of Hobbit Pipes are out. Early on, you will be using Galadriel more for her ability than her questing points, although when you have an Unexpected Courage and Nenya on her you will use both.

Principle 3: Economy An early goal of the deck is to get threat under 20 and get [Resourceful] (/card/04062) onto Galadriel, preferably 2. This is the real key to getting the deck going.

I have used this on the first 2 scenarios of the LotR saga to good effect as well as some Voice of Isengard and Dwarrowdelf scenarios. You spend some early rounds ducking and diving, but when your economy is going it is very formidable, and it is very fun playing with such a powerful attacking hobbit.
