DECK NAME - Repeat Offenders
OVERVIEW - I had to play this quest a few times to create a deck I liked against this quest. Ended up using the same hero lineup I used in Peril in Pelargir. Deck performs well against an early Mumak. This deck was especially fun and challenging to build. Hope you enjoy!
HEROES
- Beorn - can attack/defend or even battle quest; combine him with Thalin's point of damage when revealing enemies and Beorn can attack and kill everything but the Mumak
- Beravor - attach Song of Kings, Song of Battle and Steward of Gondor; draw cards every round except round 1
- Thalin - attach 2X Dwarven Axe; quest every round
STRATEGY
- SETUP - Feint is great as is Vassal of the Windlord or one of the Noldor allies
- ROUND 1 - send Thalin on the quest but hold back everyone else including Beravor; engage enemies in staging area (will be forced because of Ithilien Road; hopefully you can Feint one or 2 enemies and attack back with Beorn/Beravor/ally; killing engaged enemies is your priority
- STAGE 1A - make sure Celador dies before completing (Sneak Attack Gandalf is a good way to accomplish this due to him leaving play); take a little time setting up; make sure at least 1 Warden of Healing is in play before advancing
- STAGE 2A/4A - keep your threat at 37 or higher to siege quest in final stage (you'll skip 3A since we will insure Celador dies)
- THREAT REDUCTION - Gandalf; do NOT draw cards with him; his damage effect might be needed too
- NOLDOR ALLIES - in addition to their solid or values they are GREAT for chumping in order to negate the "deal-one-damage-to-defender" shadow card; think of them as a Feint of sorts; try not to chump with Vassal of the Windlord or Winged Guardian
- DIRECT DAMAGE - Thalin damage + Beorn attack kills all enemies other than Mumak / Dwarven Axe + Goblin-cleaver is also helpful / Thalin removes Forest Bats from the equation
- Eagles of the Misty Mountains - wait to put out Vassal of the Windlord or Winged Guardian until EotMM is out if possible; that way you get a boost if you lose them; Vassal makes a great archery soak in stages 2 and 4
- Ranger Spikes - removes some enemies from the game essentially
