This is a companion deck for a Caldara deck with Arwen Undómiel and Éowyn, so Heir of Mardil and Elven Mail are intended for the other deck, and Eowyn is the preferred target for Golden Shield if she has a way of readying after questing.
The card to mulligan for is Armored Destrier. Slap that puppy on Amarthiúl and the ability of Elfhelm turns him into someone who can defend for 4, then either discard a shadow and defend for 4 again, or counter-attack for 4. This is the combat deck and he's the centerpiece, though eventually a fine defender will also be set up on the other deck as well, with Dori defending for the other deck until then.
