This is the deck I used in my video that took the Starter Deck: Defenders of Gondor against Journey Along the Anduin.
The video can be found here: https://youtu.be/L488QW7oE7g
With a starting threat of 32 you will have to face the Hill Troll on turn 1. Hopefully you found a Gondorian Shield for Beregond or Feint. If not, you will have to chump with a low cost ally. Destroy the troll as soon as possible with your Gondorian Army.
Happy Questing

Apr 03, 2022Lol, exactly! Thank you for watching! |
Jun 01, 2022Love your videos and content thank you for the work you put into it. Tried this deck many times and haven't won a single game. Feel like the gondor deck is a crap shoot/gamble against this with all the necromancers reaches, dark storms, pursued by darkness (or whatever the name of the shadow is that raises threat for each non questing character), and the attachment discard treacheries/no defense treacheries. I think I am just getting some bad luck! |
Sep 27, 2023You need a lot of luck to win with this deck against Hill Troll. The problem with this deck is low willpower of your heroes and very high starting threat. I tried many times but never won this quest with this deck... |
Sep 28, 2023I won this quest once using the base starter deck! In easy mode that is, basically let the troll increase my threat into 40 while playing down cards, found both Angbor and Visionary Leadership quickly which helped a lot with questing. I was then super stoked that this deck was so good, only to try it again and get destroyed for the next 2 or 3 tries. And again, this was in easy mode. |
Great video, I enjoyed watching it! Thanks for sharing the deck. I was really interested to see what you'd do with it after the Mirkwood video. I liked the intro where you described how you went all over the place before finally coming back to basically the original deck with just a couple of tweaks. Hard to beat Caleb at his own game ;-)
