Inspired by many of the Saruman Grey Wanderer decks here, I'm trying a Saruman does it all deck which actually seems to be more of a challenge rather than something overpowered (which is what I initially thought it could be).

I think the start is fairly normal, with Grey Wanderer fishing out Strider, and the One Ring allowing you to start with Strength and Courage in your hand. So you've got a 47 Card deck with 3 Daeron's Runes, which roughly means a 41 card deck.

As I'm playing my way through Nightmare quests I'm finding out the that quests that out start heavy early run the risk of making you lose via Threat. You're not usually in danger of losing Saruman, it more of being unable to catchup and finish before 45 threat. I'm sure I'll keep tampering with it as time goes on. There is a lot of room to maneuver when it comes to customizing for personal taste or particular quest (location heavy vs enemy heavy etc). The large sideboard is really a collection of what I've experimented with or thought of while playing and tuning this deck.

i would "swap" not interpret as "leave and come back". is your opinion statet somewhere official?

i would interpret "swap" as move from here to there

I think the interpretation (because I'm not aware of the ruling if any), comes from the fact that The One Ring states it is "Immune to non-Master effects". Which means it wouldn't move as part of the "moving all eligible attachments".

At least that seems to be the interpretation on at least on a couple of the other grey-wanderer Saruman decks - and seems like a valid interpretation.

An official ruling one way or the other would be great.

o.k. the immunity i can understand, but why it should leave then?

if not other stated, i would say it exists in an undefined state in the staging of the player who use the helm.

Correct - except I think, as an attachment, that is no longer attached, it is gone (much like discarding or taking a hero back to your hand who has the ring).

I mean thematically it could be cool, because it would be like the Ring is lost again .... :)

not all attachments that are unattached will be discarded. all the guarded ones stay until claimed.

Correct. This isnt guarded however, and is like any other attachment you have on a character when the character leaves play. So similar to a staff, a pipe, armor, weapons that is already attached to a character. Anyways, I think we've exhausted this argument now :)
