DECK NAME - Street Fighters II

https://youtu.be/y_FJ8GQ3PCQ

OVERVIEW - This is an excellently balanced quest; not swingy like many nightmare quests. The biggest issue for this deck is the Local Trouble condition. Get it early and you can easily threat out. But Gandalf gives us some much needed reduction in the event that happens. In stage 3, we'll easily quest for the win with the aid of Trained for War.

HEROES

  • Beorn - can battle quest in a pinch, but usually he'll hang back for combat
  • Boromir - attach 2X weapon; his action is the key to doing well against this quest
  • Mablung - attach 2X weapon; his response is the key to paying for all these expensive cards

STRATEGY

  • OPENING HAND - card draw such as weapon/Foe-hammer, Bofur, or The Eagles Are Coming!
  • STAGE 1 & 2 - start with Alcaron's Scroll attached to Boromir; one defended attack from Harbor Thugs will see it detach from Boromir until we're ready to advance to stage 3; commit Boromir and Mablung to the quest; usually hold back Beorn for combat; try to destroy all enemies each round
  • STAGE 3 - choose a discarded Harbor Thug as the enemy for the when revealed; use Trained for War to battle quest for the win
  • Bofur - more useful as card draw than for battle questing
  • Goblin-cleaver - can only one-shot Zealous Traitor, but can also finish off damaged enemies
  • Gondorian Discipline - a game winner on occassion
  • Hidden Cache and The White Council - included for card draw/deck thinning
  • Trained for War - allows for battle questing in stage 3
