The masterful ruler of Gondor, Denethor, oversaw the defence of Minas Tirith during the Siege of Gondor. His fortitude and wisdom are shown by his 3 defence and 2 additional resources he begins each game with. Much like Gondor, defence and resource generation are two strengths of this deck.
Denethor's sizable defence makes him your primary defender. With a couple Armored Destrier, Denethor can defend multiple attacks each round, and a Protector of Lórien can give him a temporary defence boost if needed.
The powerful Steward of Gondor is put on Denethor to help play your high-cost Leadership cards, such as Knight of the White Tower. Sneak Attack with Gandalf is one of the best combos in the game, and Heed the Dream helps set it up.
