Cards to consider:

Henamarth Riversong will let you see the next card WITHOUT letting you put it at the bottom of the deck. It really just lets us decide how many people should quest before we start questing, after we've already used Denethor to slip one under.

Son of Arnor Will let us engage an enemy BEFORE attacks begin, meaning that if we combine it with Forest Snare, we can keep the hill troll from ever attacking. We'd need to have a somewhat lucky draw to get both cards at once in the beginning though.

Self Preservation Would be a nice card to play on Aragorn so he can take hits in battle. (It would really be a nice card to put on anyone.)

I recommend avoiding Lore (green) cards with a cost of more than 3 if possible. If it costs 4, it really needs to be pretty good.

Leadership (purple) cards can be expensive, since you have two different characters who will be paying for them.

Also, look at your Steward of Gondor card. It will allow you to generate many more resources for one of your characters. I built this deck with the intention of putting it on Denethor so he can start buying cards that he'd previously been waiting for, but that doesn't have to stay the strategy if you think of another way to build.

Secret Paths seems pretty minor, but it can be very useful in this scenario because it has some high-threat locations that might prevent us from questing.

Gildor Inglorion looks like it could be a way to ensure that you eventually get the Forest Snare and Sons of Arnor combo mentioned above, but it costs 5 Lore (green), which means you won't be afford it until you don't need that combo anymore. However, Campfire Tales might get the job done.

Parting Gifts could bolster or replace this strategy.

If you wanted to, you could even replace one or two of your heroes. Have a look at the list of purple and green ones.

Maybe replace Denethor with Beravor to increase card draw? This will make the encounter deck notably more dangerous.
