Synopsis
A jack-of-all-trades unlikely friendship deck.
Design
This deck was created for a CotR community deck spotlight.
Credit for the parent deck list goes to camacazio, who authored Legolas and Gimli with their weird friend.
In this incarnation, I've lowered the cost curve of the allies in the hopes of getting some more questing characters out early, and I added in a few copies of Cram and Lembas to help boost the Warden of the Havens.
My changes ended up altering the sphere distribution quite a bit, so you might be wondering why I opted to keep Song of Wisdom. The answer is healing. Gimli will be taking a lot damage, so it helps to be able to use his pool of cash to repeatedly ready a Warden of Healing.
Strategy
- Mulligan for Legacy of NĂºmenor.
- Ultimately, you're going to want an early Mirkwood Long-knife on Legolas, and an early Dwarven Shield on Gimli, but you can't play them if you can't pay for them! Don't worry if you don't see them right away; Erestor won't let you down.
- Song of Wisdom and Steward of Gondor go on Gimli.
- Miruvor is amazing in this deck. You can keep one cycling to the top of your deck for "repeatable" readying, and send the others to your discard pile at opportune moments to boost Warden of the Havens.
Thanks for giving the deck a go! This might be one of the most fun decks I've used in awhile. I was thinking of getting cram or lembas in there too, glad you tried it out!
