One of the challenges of the Giova's Colle Vento (a two-days lotr lcg convention we just had in Italy in memory of Giova) was to have a table of players with a Grey Wanderer decks without allies. I realized it could have been the perfect test bed for the new Beyond the Original Bargain contract (not included in the list because it's not out yet).

The idea is that, with The One Ring already down, The Three Hunters should already turn at the end of turn 1, giving a much needed Willpower boost. It is not unusual to be able to reach 10 very early in the game, eventually capping at 14. The weapons are enough to kill almost everything (with Fair and Perilous helping for the biggest enemies) and threat reduction is important in order not to engage enemies. Lastly, location control is important to prevent location lock. Cards in the sideboard are there in case other people play some unique cards. Strider should be GW's target (or Light of Valinor in case someone else is playing that), while the starting Master card choice is more flexible.

The deck performed well, easily going in control of the quest both in the challenge, together with a Glóin GW, and with non-GW decks in subsequent games playing some POD quests. I think it should be able to handle itself in solo as well.

woould add some Resourceful and Gildor's Counsel (only in multiplayer)

because i am not a fan of guarded i would discard 2-3 Necklace of Girion and additional 2 Box of Earth (its not restricted and unique) depending on testing i would think about Open the Armory

this deck might have problems with engaged enemys from the start

Thanks for the suggestions, I didn't think about Gildor's Counsel and Open the Armory.

I had no particular troubles with the guarded artifact, but it can be converted into Celebrían's Stone, for instance, without particular problems. I leaned towards it because of it being neutral.

Perhaps using The Ruling Ring would help against quests with a starting engaged enemy.
