Need willpower? This is the deck for you. Today, I built a deck that generates an average starting willpower of 15, adds an average of 8 willpower each round, and eventually lets you plow through quests with nearly infinite willpower in one deck. Using this deck, I have completed quests with literally every location in the staging area, and was still placing tons of progress on the current quest. Also, this doesn't happen often (because I usually beat the game before this happens) but there were times when I have quested more then 100 willpower with this deck alone.
Starting threat: 19 (starting heroes) + 8 ((MotK) Faramir) + 4 (Beyond the Original Bargain) = 31 starting threat.
Round 1:
-
mulligan for Steward of Gondor. Know that there are 100 cards in this deck, because I am using the contract A Perilous Voyage. If you get your starting hand and have an Unexpected Courage you may want to consider not taking the mulligan, because your chances are more slim than usual.
-
If you have Steward of Gondor, use Arwen Undómiel's ability to add a resource on Faramir. There are more spirit allies (and a copy of unexpected courage) in the deck, so you should put Steward of Gondor on Arwen Undómiel.
-
if you get a Unexpected Courage that should go on Faramir. now he can give every ally 2 willpower instead of 1.
-
you should have 8-10 allies in your hand. (because of Erestor) Play as many as you can because you won't be getting them back.
Rounds 2-the end:
you simply get your 4 cards, play as many as possible, and use A Perilous Voyage if you need to. Then quest.
I would like to note that this deck has two major weaknesses, and now will say how I countered them.
1: This deck has one propose: Questing. If you wish to play solo, try a different deck. I designed this deck for multiplayer, and in order to play this, you will need to pair it with either a ranger deck, or a deck with a lot of sentinel.
2: If you get the wrong card, (like evil storm, for example) almost all of your questers will die in one fellow blow. You may want a friend who can cancel the effects of certain treacheries. (like Eleanor)
Also, it isn't technically the most thematic deck either..........

Nov 28, 2024opps. I keep forgetting to check for traits. That case, you would need to combo it with Envoy of Pelargir, Magic Ring, or wait for future rounds, and make sure not to spend all of your resources from (MotK) Faramir until then. |
(MotK) Faramir is not noldor or aragorn, so cannot be target of Arwen Undómiela ability
