Time for more Baggins Shenanigans!
The Goal: Loot all the guarded attachments from Middle Earth without causing undue stress for your party.
Setup: This deck has a few things going on right at the start of the game. First of all, The One Ring goes on Bilbo Baggins, as does the Stone of Elostirion and Master Burglar. This means you start the game with Bilbo Baggins sporting 5 Willpower, and the ability to gain willpower equal to an enemy in the staging area.
Opening Hand: There are a couple of things to keep your eye's out for in the opening hand, though there isn't one card you MUST see. A Burglar Indeed! is obviously a great card to see right away. When that is combined with Bilbo Baggins ability, you can count on 4 damage being dropped on an enemy with a guarded attachment. Raiment of War is probably the second best card to see. Your goal is to flip Forth, The Three Hunters! as quickly as possible, and drawing one or two of those can really speed that up, particularly since Bilbo doesn't need any more restricted attachments to flip.
How to Loot: This deck is all about guarded attachments, and all three of the heroes aim to allow you to get them with as little stress as possible. The general process flows something like this:
1) Play a guarded attachment from your hand or by using The King's Return, preferably getting an enemy to the staging area. (Durin's Axe and Sting are great early targets as they gurantee an enemy)
2) Exhaust A Burglar Indeed! to add progress/damage to the card guarding the attachment. If it's a location, use Bilbo's Walking Song as well.
3) Quest with Bilbo selecting the enemy as your target negating the threat they add to the middle. Quest with Éomer, using his ability and his Spear of the Mark or Dagger of Westernesse to damage and maybe kill the enemy in the middle. If the enemy is really nasty, Valour of the North can help him drop enemies in one quick strike.
4) Resolve the quest and place damage on the enemy from Bilbo. By now, if the attachment is guarded by an enemy, you have dealt it 4 damage from Bilbo, and whatever Eomer was able to throw at it, meaning it is most likely dead and you now have a shiny new toy. Congrats! If you don't kill it...
5) The enemy engages you, Fastred pushes it back to the middle, and you can repeat the process next turn.
Riddle Game: An important thing to keep in mind with this deck is that you do need to complete the riddle game 2 times instead of three since Bilbo is a hobbit. This isn't usually a challenge, but you want to maintain a robust hand until the riddle is cleared.
Mid-Game and Beyond!: By about turn 3 or 4 you should have played and captured many of the attachments in your deck, 3 hunters should be flipped, and you should be in autopilot mode. It is likely that Bilbo is questing for around 10, and Eomer for around 6, throwing a respectable amount into the middle. This deck plays well in solo, but can be really fun in MP where you can quickly gift extremely potent attachments to other players at the table. I put Thror's Ring on the sideboard, but it is a great card for any dwarf deck you may be playing with.
