So, I initially wanted to open each pack in this cycle and play each quest with the cards available, but i got excited and couldn't help myself, so I opened them all up. It seems like the Eagles are where the cards are leading me so an Eagle deck it is. I guess I'll try to beat the cycle with this deck, don't really know what I'm doing but I think it will be fun. Am I on the wrong track?
My first thought when building an eagles deck is: The eagle cards are all so expensive, therefore I need x3 heroes. For this reason, I've never even considered using Prince Imrahil in an eagles deck, but I can see the synergy now.
You may well have addressed the resources issue, adding in the resource generation powerhouses that are Glóin and Steward of Gondor, but if you do find you're struggling to afford the big allies, try bumping up Radagast, Song of Battle, Steward of Gondor and Parting Gifts to x3 of each. They look like pretty important cards in the deck. Adding some card draw can to help you dig out the above cards a little quicker should help a bit as well. Cards such as Valiant Sacrifice and maybe even Campfire Tales (I say maybe as it isn't a very efficient card, but worth it if you have excess resources).
I can see Éomer fitting well into this deck too, but you've got a few cycles to wait before getting him.
It'll be interesting to hear how it does. Enjoy playing through the Shadows of Mirkwood scenarios :)
