The Purple Wizard 1195
When I'm building a Rossiel/victory display deck, my first question is always card draw. I can have all these great events in my deck to dismantle the encounter deck but if I can't find them, what good are they? Enter Gandalf, the Expert Treasure-hunter, one of the most powerful card draw combos in the game. Gandalf plays a supporting role here, providing cards and keeping enemies off her back so Rossiel can work her magic.
A few notes:
~Pippin uses Good Meal to enable the use of Out of the Wild and Gildor's Counsel. Good Meal is then the primary target for Erebor Hammersmith's recycling.
~Your first hand should have either Expert Treasure-hunter or Gandalf's Staff in it. Mulligan if neither. Beyond that, both Shadowfax and Good Meal are welcome early game sights, the latter particularly if you also have one of its targets.
~The ents were chosen here primarily for their utility and all-around value, quite useful in a deck with so few allies.
~As you might guess, these victory display shenanigans are most helpful in a four player game. This deck could work well in a planned-out three player game too, but is likely too specialized to be that helpful in lower numbers.
Four player deck with hero Gandalf? No, no! Seriously, though, really nice deck!
