RedSpiderr 1797

RedSpiderr has a newer deck inspired by this one: Saga Deck 10.2: Blast from Helm’s Horn

I used this deck for the ninth quest of my Saga Campaign. I am going to try and keep it as thematic as possible, stemming from the 'What If?' of 'What if Gandalf didn't escape from Orthanc in The Fellowship of the Ring?' Please note, I don't own all the cards, so am not able to make the most powerful thematic deck theoretically possible, but constrained by what I have, here is my best attempt.

The Ringbearer has been captured. Orcs bearing a White Hand have ambushed the Fellowship and have captured not only Frodo, but Sam and Merry also. Spurred by desperation and regret, the remainder of the Broken Fellowship pursue the Uruk-hai west across the plains of Rohan, hoping against hope they can catch them before the hobbits are lost forever.

While it’s partner deck will focus on questing through this quest, it is the job of this deck to keep it path clear for them. There are indirect ways of doing this, such as Secret Vigil, but primarily through killing the enemies as quickly and effeciently as possible. Regulars such as Dagger of Westernesse and Blade of Gondolin make a return, as does Unexpected Courage and Light of Valinor giving us as much action advantage as possible. Stand and Fight will be used to cycle through the cheaper allies that we may need to throw at the tougher enemies.

Thematically this deck represents the surviving members of the party ambushed on Amon Hen chasing down the Uruk-hai across the plains of Rohan. There are some Silvan allies to represent Celeborn’s party from Lothlorien and some Rohirim for the various scouts and outriders of the Mark. There are more attachments that allies however, because the heroes are still more dependant on their own skills than on the help of others in their quest
